Stars close the season with a three-game sweep of the Anaheim Ducks.
The Stars scored three power play goals in a 2-1 victory on Saturday.
Benn and Jamie Benn scored for the Stars with 1:18 remaining in regulation.
Tyler Seguin had an empty-netter and Patrick Sharp added an empty netter.
The Ducks scored four unanswered goals in the third period to win their fourth straight.
The Anaheim Ducks are off to their best start since taking the Stanley Cup title in 2016-17.
“I don’t think the team has lost its edge in the first half,” said Stars coach Lindy Ruff.
“We didn’t score a lot of goals, we didn’t make too many plays.
We got out to the zone a little bit, but we didn`t execute.”
The Stars are 4-1-1 this season when winning.
They will face Colorado on Monday.
Benn was a healthy scratch for the Ducks.
Ruff said he expected Benn to play Monday.
The team also has recalled defenseman Ben Lovejoy from the Tucson Roadrunners of the American Hockey League.
Ruff was asked if Lovejoy will be ready for the start of the season.
“It’s a good bet, yes,” Ruff said.
“Lovejoy’s not a game changer, he`s a tough guy, but he`ll be a good fit in our lineup.”
